Interesting, but not entirely correct. A computer can start fine without a hard drive connected. The boot sector of a hard drive actually only becomes active after the computer has already started up hardware-wise (after the so-called POST). The BIOS then starts looking for a program or OS to load, so it checks the boot sectors of several connected storage devices (DVD-rom drive, USB port, etc). The boot sector contains information about what is on the drive. A disk drive that contains an OS but has an empty boot sector won't be used by the BIOS.
Reading info from inner tracks is faster than from outter tracks? How is that?
